Thanks go to our stalwart volunteers who manned the BNARGS booth at the Berkshire Botanical Garden last Friday and Saturday. Plus thanks go especially to Brian and Alice who not only helped with setup and manned the booth, but also potted plants to sell! What a fun group- Dan & Joanne, Ellen, Maura, Elaine, Paul, Brian, Alice and me! Thank you!

Highest priced plant was a Trillium grandiflorum f. roseum. It hardly got priced before it was scooped up. We have ideas on what to grow to sell next year. They include all plants in flower. Even a little Tetraneurus herbacea was a good seller, in bloom. You might know it by its old name: Hymenoxis acaulis. Please take a look around your garden today to see what’s in bloom. Let’s add them to the list.

There was one ramonda sold to place in a terrarium. Why not? It was assumed to be a succulent. Well. This seems to characterize our problem with membership. No one knows what we grow or why. Yes we all know the performance and beauty of the plants. But the public doesn’t. Think back to your first exposure to rock gardening. Mine was a vision of the plants. So let’s see what is blooming next May and show it for a public sale!

Coming up next is our trough workshop. Don’t miss this opportunity. Find a styrofoam box of your choice to bring. Try the supermarket or pharmacy. If you don’t need another trough (is there such a thing), make one for us to sell next May. Let your creativity flow!

Next May!
